Staud’s Wien

Staud’s Wien is a family business founded in the year 1883. For decades the family has traded mainly in fruit and vegetables (wholesale and retail); in 1971 Hans Staud – at the time 23 years old – established what is today a refined production of confitures, pickled vegetables, syrups, compotes etc. In the last 40 years Staud’s high-end food products have gained an international reputation and can be found in selected restaurants and delicatessen shops all over the world.

The little „delicatessen factory“ of Staud‘s is situated in Vienna’s 16th district (named Ottakring), a traditional working-class district which during the past years has become an attractive neighbourhood for students and young professionals. Staud’s retail shop is part of the Brunnenmarkt, a large daily food market in the heart of the district.

The Edelweiss Collection features two flavours of Staud’s jams which are of course produced according to highest standards in quality and authenticity. They are therefore without artificial components (e.g. chemical preservatives) and furthermore gluten- and lactose-free.

Unopened, the jars can be stored at room temperature, protected from sunlight and high temperatures. When opened, the jam has to be kept in the fridge and consumed as soon as possible. Aside from eating it directly out of the jar, it goes very well with rolls, bread, croissants and even pancakes.
